Dave is a working musician and possesses a wealth of experience as a guitarist, guitar tutor, music producer/composer, music workshop co-ordinator and sound/lighting engineer. He has travelled and performed extensively throughout his native home of Australia and overseas in countries such as New Zealand, United States, East Timor, Solomon Islands, and the Middle East. Dave can be seen performing with his own trio locally around Melbourne and also currently performs with local Melbourne based blues vocalist Andrea Marr.
Teaching has always been a passion of Dave's and has taught privately and at various instrumental institutions over the past 20 years. He has overseen the delivery of all manner of music based workshops including topics such as, music production, contemporary music, song writing, rhythm section and performance management.
In 2009, his love of blues music saw him establish the widely popular YouTube Channel RandomJammer, which has resulted in attracting over 20,000 subscribers and is recognised as a highly professional educational resource that is utilised daily by musical institutions throughout the United States and Europe.
Dave has been actively involved in various mentoring roles in particular the ADF Arts for Recovery, Resilience, Teamwork and Skills (ARRTS) Program. This event consists of arts workshops, aimed at supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of Australian Defence Force personnel facing service-related health and wellbeing challenges. The overall objective is to aid in the creation and ultimate delivery of musical content inspired by the selected participants. The ultimate goal is to assist their movement, speech and attention span and to build self-confidence.
Music production is an area where Dave has spent much time honing his skills. Since 2016 he has been producing music for The DA’s Office who are the music production powerhouse behind popular reality T.V. shows such as Masterchef, Celebrity Apprentice, The Great Australian Bake Off. Through the DA’s Office, he has had music successfully placed in TV, film and Australian documentaries.
